Complete lack of service and outdated roomsI highly discourage anyone from staying at Alexander the Great MG.
This was by far the worst service experience I have ever had in Egypt, with even some 3-star hotels offering much better accommodations and hospitality.
PlážBeach and Pier: The beach management is completely disorganized. Swimming is strictly forbidden until the lifeguard decides to put up the green flag, and he routinely shows up late (anywhere between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM) or simply forgets to change the flag. Even when the water is safe and shallow, you will be chased out. The pier is very long (around 400–500 meters), and the stairs leading into the water are too narrow, causing constant crowds and queues.
StravaThe buffet selection is highly repetitive and monotonous. The chefs at the counter look at guests with complete disdain and are very unpleasant to interact with.
UbytovanieRooms and Housekeeping: The rooms are extremely old, outdated, and worn out. Housekeeping is practically non-existent. Leaving a $1 tip only results in "decorations" made from dirty towels rather than actual cleaning. Essential amenities like shampoo, shower gel, and bottled water are not replenished automatically; you literally have to beg for them. It is better to bring your own supplies.
SlužbyStaff and Attitude: The staff's arrogance and sheer lack of professionalism were deeply disappointing. The beach bartender was incredibly rude, ignored the queue, shouted at my friend when she tried to order, and openly prioritized local guests over others. Furthermore, the beach towel attendant walks around filming female guests sunbathing without their consent. The staff also frequently make remarks in Arabic behind guests' backs, creating a very uncomfortable atmosphere.
On-site Shops: The shops located inside the resort sell goods at prices that are 4 to 5 times higher than the actual market rates.
